Performing CPR on a patientBasic Life Support teaches the core elements of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). The course is suitable and advisable for everyone, including members of the public. It teaches how to perform CPR and emergency first aid on patients who have suffered cardiac arrest, strokes and other conditions.

What are the entry requirements?

Nil

Who is this course aimed at?

Anyone from nurses & doctors to a member of the public.

What will I be doing on the course?

Learning how to approach and assess an adult casualty safely. To commence resuscitation or place the casualty in the recovery position as required.

How do I study the course?

2 Hours.

What can I do after the course?

Administer BLS when required.

How long is the certificate valid for?

3 year. But we advise a refresher course every year.

Additional information:

Various additional elements can be incorporated into the BLS course depending on the clients requirements. For example clinical staff may wish for oxygen, aspiration and more advanced airway management techniques to be bolted on.
