First Aid at Work

This is a refresher course for people who have completed the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) First Aid at Work training course aimed at employees of companies and organisations. The HSE First Aid 2-day refresher course has been developed in conjunction with the HSE to provide employees with updates on first aid protocols and the skills necessary to deal with a range of injuries and potentially life-threatening situations.

What are the entry requirements?
There are no entry requirements for this course

Who is this course aimed at?
Anyone wishing to gain the FAW qualification, or just improve their first aid knowledge.

What will I be doing on the course?
Candidates should demonstrate their competence to:
• assess the situation in an emergency
• administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure)
• administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation
• administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding
• administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock

How do I study the course?
Over a period of two days, minimum contact time 12 hours.

What can I do after the course?
Seek employment as a qualified first aider, help save a life.

How long is the award valid for?
3 Years.

Candidates must pass assessments to gain qualification.
